Happy 1 Year Anniversary! A Year in Review for Playing for Purpose
Playing For Purpose
Happy one year anniversary to us! An update!

Mission and Purpose
We are Triathletes who contribute to the greater good beyond sports performance results.
A year in review (2016)
As a business, Playing for Purpose became a reality in 2016. I decided to take my ideas from concept to reality last February by officially creating the Playing for Purpose triathlon coaching company and brand. I was very enthusiastic about building these concepts and thoughts into a real thing this past year. Initially, much of the work was done in the fringe hours of the day between my work as a high school counselor, my training, racing, as a husband, and a dad to my four year old. My partnership with Tri Town in Boise has been amazing and instrumental to my success. I encourage you to support them in your triathlon and bike needs even if you do not live in Boise. Give them a call! They are awesome!
It all started with a simple concept: I want to provide athletes an opportunity to be coached with

USAT certified coaching credentials while contributing to the greater good. Playing for Purpose contributes a portion of coaching fees and brand product profits to make these contributions. We chose to contribute to the Idaho Youth Sports Commission and to two individuals needing a boost of support receiving cancer treatment this past year. I am happy to report that the individuals we chose to support are in remission at this time and are doing well! This is our way of expressing gratitude and love for our ability to train, race and contribute to the greater good beyond sports performance results.
Our athletes and brand supporters all found success this past year and had great personal satisfaction

in knowing they helped contribute to causes beyond their sports performance results. We worked with athletes who trained and finished their first triathlon event, finished their first full Ironman, as well as seasoned triathletes who continue to race multiple events and distances each year. Congratulations to all of you! We love you very much and are so proud of who you are and your accomplishments!
2017 Updates, Athletes and Goals
Currently I am coaching the Boise State Triathlon Team and six individual age group athletes who plan to compete in sprint, olympic, half Ironman and full Ironman events this season. These are athletes who live in Idaho, Alaska, and Utah. We will be featuring our 2017 athlete stories as they progress this season in the blog section of our website.
We will continue to sell Playing for Purpose hats and possibly add other merchandise on our website store.

We will use a portion of these profits and coaching fees to benefit the greater good throughout the year. Our goals are simple and remain the same this year. We will train, race, and contribute to the greater good as a triathlon coaching business and as athletes! Nonprofits we will support this season include:
Idaho Youth Sports Commission - Supporting youth sports and coaches in Idaho.
Treasure Valley YMCA - For youth development, for healthy living, for social responsibility.
The Inn Between - Hospice for Homeless.
Here’s to a playful 2017!
